KESHER SCOUTING
THE ULTIMATE RUGGED SUMMER CAMP

Hi! I’ve been A KESHER camper for the last 4 summers and I’m looking forward to going back for my 5th awesome summer. A few nights ago as was thinking about all the great times that I had throughout the years, which I think about often, I decided to let you know about it, and give you the chance to have that great time. So I sat down and wrote the following ad hoping that a newspaper would print it for me. So if you see this I succeeded and I hope you enjoy reading it.

Are you ready for the experience of a lifetime, of living in the outdoors for a month?

Ever hear of a frum Boy Scout?

Well join KESHER SCOUTING where the scouting experience, the wilderness, the learning, the great ruach, and of course the loads of fun, all come together to make that dream summer.

It’s all located on the Ten Mile River Scout Reservation, in the Catskill Mountains, on the border of Pennsylvania, which is 14,000 acres of gorgeous land, 5 beautiful lakes, and all.

Of course safety is the camp’s first concern and that is why all activities are run under the supervision of a staff trained and certified by the Boy Scouts of America’s National Camping School. The staff assures that before any activity begins, the equipment is safe, and the boys understand all safety rules.

The Scouting Advancement Program teaches you skills that you can take with you for life. They include: Wilderness survival, First-aid & CPR, Lifesaving, Orienteering, Pioneering, Knots & lashings, Fire building & outdoor cooking, Fishing & fish preparation, Backpacking, Back-country camping and lots more.

Doing Scouting the Torah way, start the day right by learning an hour and a half in the morning, then going on to the fun-filled day and finishing it with another hour of learning in the evening. All given by great Rebbeim.

Or, join the great Masmidim program headed by Rabbi Noach Shafran of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel of Baltimore, which gives high school aged Bochurim a regular morning Seder and one hour at night.

Some of the activities that make camp so much fun are:

On the water: Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Lifesaving, Rowing, Snorkeling, Lifeguarding, Water trampoline, Swimming, how about trying the mile swim? Whitewater Canoeing down the Delaware, which happens to run through our camp

Outdoor Sports: Archery, Backpacking, Hiking, Try doing the 50 mile hike all within camps grounds. Mountain biking, Rappelling, Ropes course, Rock-climbing up a cliff, can’t do that? Do the Climbing Wall instead.

Wilderness Survival Skills: Camping and camping safety, First-aid & CPR, Orienteering, Outdoor cooking, Pioneering, Survival in the wilderness.

There’s much, much, more! You just have to come and try it out for yourself.

KESHER SCOUTING, run together with the Boy Scouts of America, is a program for boys ages 11-17 who would like to enjoy a rugged outdoor fun-filled summer adventure. Experience the outdoors like you can’t anywhere else!

The Director of the camp is Chanina Szendro and the Head Counselor is Rabbi Yaakov Schwartz. If you want to find out more information about KESHER SCOUTING, or to order an application call now: 1-866-4-KESHER or go to: www.kesherscouting.org
