Scout Advancement
The Advancement Program offers a ladder of skills that Scouts climb at their own pace. As skills are mastered, Scouts rise through a series of ranks for which they are awarded badges. The higher they climb the more challenging, and rewarding, the tasks.
As our campers progress together in their Scouting skills, those returning over several summers can earn merit badges and quickly advance. Starting as tenderfoots, scouts can climb up to second class scouts, first class scouts, star and life scouts. With some effort, scouts could strive to achieve the coveted Eagle Scout Award. As scouts gain new knowledge, they are able to apply it on outings and activities.
Earning merit badges can be very satisfying. However, badges are not the most important part of Scouting. Of greater value is what the the badges represent. The skills mastered, the wisdom gained, and experiences enjoyed are what really count.
