Torah Atmosphere - Scouting Environment
The most important, and perhaps the most unique part of Kesher Scouting is the outstanding Torah atmosphere combined with the scouting environment. The entire day at Kesher Scouting revolves around Torah. Every morning starts bright and early with Shacharis. Immediately following Shachris is a short D'var Halacha.
Then, in the dining room, scouts are given an opportunity to share Divrei Torah with the entire camp.
Learning Program
Rabbi Yirmiahu Benyowitz, a talented and experienced mechanech from Yeshivas Ner Yisroel of Baltimore, heads our outstanding learning program. He guides our energetic staff of learning rebbeim to nurture, stimulate, and challenge students at all levels. Our learning rebbeim are caring and capable Bochurim hand-picked from the most prominent yeshivos such as Bais Medrash Gavoah, Lakewood, the Mirrer Yeshiva of Brooklyn and Yeshivas Ner Yisroel, Baltimore. Learning sessions run for 1 ¼ hours in the morning with an additional 45 minute session in the evening.
Masmid Scout Program
For those interested in even more learning, Rabbi Noach Shafran, an 11th grade rebbe at Yeshivas Ner Yisroel, Baltimore, runs a Masmidim program in which high-school aged bochurim can learn a full morning & night seder and have an exciting afternoon filled with scouting activities.
Rabbi Shafran’s warmth and energy has made this program a huge success, adding a dimension to the ruach of the summer that can be felt throughout the camp. As for the masmidim: They love their rebbe; they love the program; and they keep coming back for more.
